Description
Jayme Charles Frederick Starkey was convicted by a Hennepin County District Court jury of second degree intentional murder for the killing of Earl Craig, Jr. The conviction was affirmed by the court of appeals. In seeking review by this court, Starkey claims the court of appeals erred in: (1) finding the evidence presented at trial sufficient to convict him; (2) concluding that the trial courts failure to admit into evidence the pornographic materials found at the crime scene was harmless; (3) finding the prosecutor did not commit prejudicial misconduct in his closing statement; and (4) upholding the trial courts refusal to question jurors under oath regarding allegations that the jury was exposed to improper information, that the law clerk improperly communicated with a member of the jury, and that juror misconduct occurred during the jurys deliberations.
